Dr. Patel holds a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics. His areas of interest are Neurology, Internal Medicine, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Global Burden of Disease, and Clinical Research Education. He has received training in outcome, survival, predictive, and cost-effectiveness analysis, and management of clinical trials. He has developed expertise in systematic review articles and meta-analysis, analyzing clinical data from hospital registries and national databases like NIS, NRD, NSQIP, NHANES, YRBS, GWTG, etc., and grant writing, budgeting, and submission. He has successfully completed 150+ projects with 6500+ citations. Under his lead authorship, many of the projects have been awarded the prestigious AHA Junior Investigator Award, AHA Stroke Minority Travel Grant, AHA Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award, ANA Travel Awards, WCN Travel Award, SCCM Bronze Research Snapshot Award, ISMMS Graduate School Travel Award, and Young Investigator Award in Clinical Cardiology, and have recognized by media like Practice Update, Consultant 360, and Medscape.
